Many people think that God's love and acceptance are conditioned on good behavior. As a result, they live each day under the cloud of insecurity and the bondage of guilt, wondering if they've been "good enough" to merit God's favor. The Bible clearly teaches, however, that God accepts us, not on the basis of our goodness, but rather on the basis of His grace through Jesus Christ. It is only when we truly begin to understand and embrace God's grace in our lives that we will experience the kind of spiritual freedom that God wants us to enjoy -- the freedom of forgiveness and freedom from sin's power.
